Spice Valley Horwich Authentic Indian Restaurant

Service was a little slow, although it was very busy so that's fair enough, we had prawn starters which claimed to be battered with garlic but we're covered in loads of some kind of sauce and underneath all the sauce and batter they were tiny, and looked like something you'd get from packet in a supermarket - for the very high price they were frankly unacceptable. I ordered from the vegan friendly menu and got a mixed veg biryani, it was really disappointing both in flavour and content. It contained a tiny amount veg, which seemed to be just the frozen mixed veg you get in bags. For me if you're going to appeal to vegans/vegetarians, you should be providing a decent quantity of vegetables. The accompanying curry sauce was one dimensional in flavour and had no heat whatsoever, despite requesting medium. My partner's 'hot' curry was nothing of the sort, it didn't even taste hot to me and I have less tolerance than him. The curry sauce was also served in a tiny bucket which mainly ended up on the table as it wasn't suitable for the purpose. To give them credit, they did take the biryani off the bill, but it wasn't cheap despite that and it was disappointingly flavourless overall. I wouldn't go back unfortunately .

Not been in the restaurant for a while we normally get a takeaway but decided to go out for a change . The restaurant was pretty full when we arrived so even though we had booked there was a small wait. The 4 of us were seated at a table and our orders were taken. This was a difficult task as the noise in the room was painfully loud and we all ended up shouting to be heard. To cut a long story short the food was excellent as always but the service was not so good . Waiting an hour for the bill in such a loud, hot , packed room that you can't hear yourself think nor hold a conversation is not a pleasant experience. At this time of year when large parties are booked in more staff is definitely needed . All the staff were pleasant and polite but sadly not enough of them , I think it's back to the takeaways for us.

Had a Saturday afternoon meal, great menu, food served piping hot (temperature), and attractively. Vic Restaurant manager was very friendly and informative without being intrusive. Reasonably priced bottles of wine. Wish we lived nearer as it would definitely be a favourite. Restaurant is very welcoming and attractive. Would definitely go back if in the area.

My family and I always enjoy our cuisine at Spice Valley. The food is always delicious with really amazing flavours, fresh ingredients and spices and a taste sensation that is absolutely perfect. The food is full of epic flavours, absolute perfection. The staff are efficient, friendly and professional. My family and I all really appreciate the fantastic service that Spice Valley provide, it is always a pleasure to dine at such a fantastic restaurant that has a wonderful menu with an excellent selection of food to choose from.
